launchpad for midi triggering console?

is this about a Learn function, or the ability to use Show Control to assign incoming midi event to a console action?

I think it is more about a learn function. I am still new to using Show Control

It may be a gap in knowledge, but basically I can see the MIDI Raw coming in, I just can't find where I can use that or record it, in order to map buttons to triggers or events on the console, I am currently testing offline with Nomad but am wanting to set up a showfile to bring to and use on Element Consoles with fewer buttons or my Ion XE when I want to expand capability.

in the Show Control tab (Tab 11) type

[1] [/] {Type} {Network} {External} [Enter]
this creates a new show control event list

[1] {MIDI String} <configure MIDI string> {OK}
{Action} {Macro} [2] [Enter]
this will create event 1 (within the eventlist you created in the step before), makes it listen to a specific MIDI string and execute macro 2.

the available actions in the show control tab are: Cue, Sub, Macro
