pixel maps and inhibs

Hi,

Need your help.

I have an on camera cue that uses a pixel map. We are using the chroma q stdio force d 12, these are 8 channels units, think of them as 2 fixtures glued together, each has 2 daylight channels and 2 tungsten channels.

I'd like to set up 4 inhibitive submasters, one for each channel.

I've patched the units in both the regular channel way and also in the pixel map way. I have made the inhibitive subs, using normal channels but they don't have any effect on what going on in the media server.

I guess in a sense I am trying to inhib the DMX values themselves.

Any Ideas?

thanks,

Jim

  • If the pixel map server is what's playing back to these lights, then I don't think you can place individual parts of the pixel map on an inhibitive sub.

Perhaps there's a way around this... I've only used intensity pixel maps, multi-parameter ones so I'm not sure if this is possible, but perhaps you can make a layer that's a black square over the lights you want to "inhibit". Put hat on an intensity master, effectively adding on a layer of darkness to that area of the server.
