Lamp on/off in cueing??

Hey all,

Is it possible for a lamp off command or a fixture reset command to be recorded into a cue? I've got a mover popping off and I just wanted to eliminate this as a possibility. I didn't think it was possible given that lamp controls are separate from all other parameters in the programmer but wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

  • There are a couple of ways to get a lamp off into a cue. One is to record a macro and have the cue execute it. The other is to send the correct DMX values to the fixture by some other means, which can happen in a variety of ways. For instance, on a Martin Roboscan, a lamp off uses the same channel as the shutter control and is triggered by setting the shutter to 0x248 thru 0x255 for more than 5 seconds.

Of course, the fixture may be lamping off because of a thermal overload or some other internal diagnostic kicking in.
