Lamp on/off in cueing??

There are a couple of ways to get a lamp off into a cue. One is to record a macro and have the cue execute it. The other is to send the correct DMX values to the fixture by some other means, which can happen in a variety of ways. For instance, on a Martin Roboscan, a lamp off uses the same channel as the shutter control and is triggered by setting the shutter to 0x248 thru 0x255 for more than 5 seconds.

Of course, the fixture may be lamping off because of a thermal overload or some other internal diagnostic kicking in. 

Right, I was just making sure that sending a reset command using "about: lamp controls" couldn't get recorded in a cue.

Upon some further investigation, I think it's definitely a heat issue. No A/C in a confined space where the light is. Going to try to put some fans on it while running and see if the issue persists.
