Issues with Multiple Intensities in Custom Fixtures

2 Issues:

1. I have have created a custom fixture with 11 intensity attributes (Mapped as Intens, Intens 2-8, Intens 11-13). Two of these paramaters have been defaulted to 128 in the patch screen, and are outputting that (under the ABOUT), however the encoders still show 0.125%, the percentage does not seem to update proportionately, and the granularity of the encoders does not seem to match across the fixture.

2. I CANNOT for the life of me, figure out how to disable Auto-Mark for such fixture. I've done everything I can think of, attempted every specialized cue flag, but still no luck.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

  • 1. I'm not sure what you mean, but there are two categories for levels in the fixture creator, one is the actual value (e.g. 0-255) and one is the user value (e.g. 0-100%). The user value is what is displayed and could be anything, such as percentage, degrees, mode, etc.

    2. You cannot disable auto-mark for a fixture. Auto-mark is either on or off.

    Hope that helps,

i think for the parameters that show 0,125% you should go to patch, to the fixture list and check the range in the personality. i think you will see, that the dmx values range from 0 to 255, but the User Min and Max are set to -100 and +100. which makes 128 (which is almost center) 0,125% (which is almost center too).

  • I'm looking at the DMX value the console is outputting, and while the console is outputing DMX 128, the encoder field is still posting 0.125%, this seems like a software issue.

Automark can be disabled on cue basis, and when I disable it, these custom fixtures still auto-mark.

Will investigate the ranges in the fixture setup, but I believe those are setup as 0-100%...so I would think I should see the value increase as I roll the encoder up.

  • You can disable auto mark in the setup options. Then nothing will mark till you ask it to.  To remove a mark type:  cue (x) mark.

  • Can you please email your showfile to me?  anne.valentino@etcconnect.com.  And indicate which channels appear to be automarking even when the automark function is disabled on a cue basis?

    Thanks!
