Hazer

I have a hazer that I would like to configure to run at full for 10 seconds, then at 0 for ten seconds, cycling indefinitely. What is the best way to set this up? A cue on a sub? An effect? A chase?

I would like to make it so that there is no way to accidentally record the hazer level into my show cue list, too, and ideally I would like to lock the hazer sub/effect/cue/chase so that it won't accept changes made in the programmer accidentally.

  • I would suggest making an Absolute Effect with 2 actions -

    1st Action Time 0, Dwell 10, Level 100

    2nd Action Time 0 Dwell 10, Level 0

Run this effect on your hazer and record that channel into a Sub. Make the Sub Priority Shielded (which by default becomes Exclusive too.

Voila. Use the bump button to start and stop Haze. You can't override this sub from anywhere else, nor can you record it into a cue accidentally.
