Hazer

I have a hazer that I would like to configure to run at full for 10 seconds, then at 0 for ten seconds, cycling indefinitely. What is the best way to set this up? A cue on a sub? An effect? A chase?

I would like to make it so that there is no way to accidentally record the hazer level into my show cue list, too, and ideally I would like to lock the hazer sub/effect/cue/chase so that it won't accept changes made in the programmer accidentally.

  • You could set this up as an effect on a sub with locked presets.

    1. Record two presets:

Preset 1: Hazer at full (or at it's "on" level)

Preset 2: Hazer Off (or at it's "off" level)

You can then Lock these presets to stop changes being made accidentally.

    2. Create an Absolute Effect

    Action 1 - TIme 0 - Dwell 10 - Preset 1

    Action 2 - Time 0 -Dwell 10 - Preset 2

    Duration/Cycle = Infinite

    3. Apply the Effect to a Sub

Change the sub to a effect submaster via the {mode} key.

In live record the effect to the sub via
    [Select Channels] [Effect] [x] [Enter]
[Select Channels] [Record] [Sub] [x] [Enter]

    4. Make the Sub Exclusive and Shielded

    [Sub] [X] {Priority} [Enter]

Page 279 - 290 of the new Eos Manual will give you some more useful bits about changing the mode and whether it is a proportional/intensity master. But the suggestion above should get you on the right tracks.
