Connecting an ion to the etc family client

You need the client kit to operate independently of another user whether you're on a wired or wireless connection. You can use Mirror Mode without the dongle, but then your displays and command line etc will mirror another user of the system.

Wired connections are by far the most reliable and robust way of operating as a client.
