Eos to Element - channel count

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the Element forum - thought it would get more of an 'audience' here ...

I've got a show file programmed on an Eos - simple stuff, dimmers only, no multi-parameter fixtures, and about 60 channels. I'm trying to load it into the Element offline editor (need to put it into an Element in one of our tour venues next week so I was just trying it to make sure everything came across OK), and any channels numbered above 500 don't survive the transfer. I know the Element has a smaller channel count than the Eos, but does that constrain the highest possible channel number rather than just the quantity of channels? If that's the case, I'm going to have to move a couple of channels to lower numbers, I guess.

  • Hmm. So with an Element running pre-v2.0 (which is the case with the board in question), even if I only have 60 channels in the show file, any of them with a channel number above 500 (or 250 if it's a lower-spec Element) simply won't load from the file? That's pretty dull :-(.

Looks like I'm going to have to do a little bit of channel renumbering, then ...
