Connect with the client from a PC

I have had nothing but problems connecting with the client software since upgrading to 2.0. I am currently connected directly to the back of the desk in network port 1.

The desk IP address is 10.101.91.101 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

No dhcp

The laptop running the client software 2.0 with the address set to 10.101.91.103 subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

I can ping the desk from the laptop but am unable to ping the computer from the desk. HELP! I have a show that I really need the remote for this evening.

It sounds like either a firewall or routing issue. First thing to try is disabling the Windows and any third party firewalls. If it still doesn't work then check the desk's network settings for Gateway. It ought to be the same IP as the desk.

Is there a switch inline or are you trying to connect directly to the console?

i'm not sure why pinging wouldn't work, that kinda sounds like firewall. but it might be worth checking if in the Shell > Network you checked Multiconsole on the appropriate port...

If you are running Windows 7 or the later Mac OS version, I believe by default they are set not to reply to a Ping.
