aRFR app not working

Hi,

I have the full version of the aRFR android app and was trying to connect to work's GIO yesterday but couldn't get it to connect. I have typed in all the details correctly and set up the desk, but when I go to the 'home screen' of the app and choose the console ready to connect, the 'connect' button is greyed out. I am definatly connected to the wireless router the desk is plugged into but the 'connect' button on the app is constantly greyed out.

Someone else on the team is using the iRFR app with no problems, any suggestions?

Thanks, Tom.

  • Along the same lines as Steven -- compare the IP address that the iPhone/iPad has to the Android's (this is the address for the phone, as found in settings, not the address of the console in the app).

Are they in the same range? Or are they radically different? Is one set up for DHCP while the other has a static IP address?

  • All of my settings for the wireless network and the console settings are identical to the iPhone. Still getting the connect button constantly greyed out.

  • Do you think that you could please be more specific?

We want the IP of the iPhone to be in the same range as the console, but not 100% identical.  If they are exactly the same then the device tries to talk to itself rather than to another device.  In addition to IP we need to be aware of Subnet Mask on both items, as this will denote how much of the IP address needs to match for the devices to recognize that they are on the same network.  A Subnet Mask of 255.255.0.0 on both devices should be sufficient, and allow it to match the first two sets of numbers in the IP address.

Of course the IP address of the console is the IP that should be entered into the aRFR application itself in the console setup menu.
