Multi-console error with one console

Hello all,

I have an Ion console running the latest update and every time I start the console I get a Multi-console error.  I don't have multi-console turned on in the shell.  The console is on a network with other devices.  Could it possibly be seeing the other device as a potential console?  The problem goes away if I unplug the network connection before powering on the console.  Is there a way to turn off multi-console besides in the shell?  Any insight is appreciated.

  • We'll need a little more information:

    • What version number of Eos Family software are you running?*
    • What is the complete error message?
      • An (in-focus!) photo is probably the easiest way.
    • What is the IP address of the console?
      • The default IP settings for an Ion are:
        Obtain Automatically: OFF
        IP: 10.101.100.101
        Subnet: 255.255.0.0
        GW: 10.101.1.1

The setting in the Shell is for choosing which network card(s) MultiConsole should use, not whether or not it runs.
This is how the console connects to Clients (including Mirror Mode) or a Backup console. It won't try to connect to anything else.
I would suggest enabling it for the Ion's network card because there's no reason at all to give it no network cards.

You may need to reinstall the Net3-Gateway Configuration Editor (GCE) v3.1.1 package - download from here.

It's probably best to contact your local ETC office directly about this when you're in front of the console:
