Fader wing with Ion not working

We just got an ion with a 2x20 fader wing.

 

We have power at the fader wing and USB from the ion to the fader wing but it doesnt seem the ion is recognizing the wing.  I went into setup and configure fader wing and I get an icon of the ION without a fader wing.  Am I missing something?

  • Have you tried un-plugging, then re-plugging the USB connection ?.  This has worked for me on the rare occasion my desk wouldn't see a wing.  I did this with the console on, the wing powered and while in the wing setup page.  The wing symbol then showed up and all was good.

    And as note and as with any non Mac computer, I always have any accessories that are USB, plugged and powered (if needed), before I boot the desk.
