Missing Show File Archive folder on PC

Hello All, I am editing a show using the latest ETC/EOS family offline software. I've created the file, am editing and I save. I see the file is saved to: C:\Program Files (x86)\ETC\Eos\ShowArchive\showtitle Now, when I explore to that folder, it is not there. I have a student working on a different show offline and is having the same problem. Any suggestions?! Thanks! Pat

  • I had this issue when I recently migrated to a new Win 7 machine.

I called tech support, Kirk had me (if memory serves) navigate to the Eos .exe file, right click and run as administrator.

The Show Archive folder then appeared in the Eos folder.

    Or something to that effect.

  • Thanks for the replies! Yes, I can get it with a thumb drive, but I am just nerdy enough to want to figure this out! I have tried the "running as admin" route. Usually once I start editing a show and shut down offline, then next time I start the show is there. When I opened as an admin, I started off with a clean show and then REALLY couldn't find the file...so that's a no go. I mean the ShowArchive folder is NOT showing up in my PC. I have "Show all folders and files" selected in the folder properties... Weird.
  • Windows 7 and newer really dislike applications saving files in the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" trees. "Run as Admin" is a bad hack at getting around the security issue. A better solution is to change your location to a directory like "C:\Users\Public\ETC\ShowArchive". YMMV
