Ion: Update problem

Hi Nick,

The OS version in the Shell is referring to something different to the software version on the console.

If you clear the command line and press about it will show you the software version.

If its is still showing 1.9.8 then I would re-download the 2.0.1 software from the website and try installing it again.

Already done that within the OS which is how I know it was still running 1.9. I'll download and try again.

It may be time to call tech support and have them walk through the install with you.

Problem solved - it was the fancy Source Four-shaped USB drive!

Huh? I update my console all the time with the S4 thumb drive. I've never had an issue. Could you please elaborate?

As a last resort I just tried a different USB drive and it installed just fine.

I'd reformatted the S4 drive when I first received it, again when this problem arose and tried two different downloads of the installer in case one was corrupt but no dice. The S4 drive mounts fine on a PC and the desk so I don't know where the issue lies.
