I have the same question. I was curious what the differences in resolution are between a 16-bit parameter controlled by a fader, wheel or via osc. And if the latter is used is it best to control the parameter directly or to control a submaster of the wheel via osc?
i suspect (but don't know, just applying knowledge from other consoles) that it's a difference if you move a controller manually or through the software. so, moving a sub from 0 to 100 manually might result in a different resolution that saying Sub 1 At Full Sneak 5 Enter.
So, do you think moving the submaster in 30 seconds via osc results in the same fade resolution as giving the command that the channel should go to a certain percentage in 30 seconds via osc?

no, i don't. and again, i'm just guessing.
the difference would be if the console can "plan ahead", i.e. if it knows the target.
