Patching RGB Channels

Hi All-

I have a couple Cosmic Color Ribbons from Light- O-Rama that I am trying to figure out how to patch and control with the Eos Ti.

The strip is 50 pixels long with individual control RGB of each pixel for a total of 150 channels. per strip They have a "controller" box which can be addressed.

For example I am using 4 strings in this show I am working on. Clearly all 4 of them combined take up more than 1 universe so they are split 3 and 1.  One box is addressed to start in Universe 1 @ 1 and go all the way thru 150.  Ribbon 2 would start at 151 and go to 301 so on and so forth

Does anyone have insight into how this should be patched- if I use the Generic RGB type it gives me the option of 8 or 16 bit which correspond to 3 or 6 channel control respectively but that then only controls the first pixels.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

  • Each individual pixel is a different channel.  So make channels 1-50 all generic RGB 8bit units.  Then patch channel 1-50@address 1.  That should patch addresses 1-150 by 3s for the whole thing.  Repeat with other strings.  I would also pixel map the strings to be able to make effects and other cool things with the strings quickly.  Best of luck.
