Pixel Mapping dimmer curves

We have been running a wall of 60 Jarags as a pixel map. Is there a way to adjust the dimmer curve on individual units within a pixel ch? I am able to adjust when I use them as channels but unable to adjust when using as a pixel map ch.

FYI this means 1500 light globes with very slow fades are coming up all over the shop.

Thanks

  • Hi Patrick, thanks for your response. Yes the Jarag units are running different dimmer cards, as a result they do look pretty bad fading up. This really requires ETC to look at how pixel channels can reference the dimmer curves applied to multiple fixtures that make up the pixel ch.

    Take care

Ah... I see.  How many different card types are you looking at?

Try building your pixel map and duplicating it 3 or 4 times (depending on how many "flavors" of lights you have)

Assign different Server layers to each instance of your map and then delete units from each map so that Map 1 has only flavor 1, map 2 has favor 2, etc. etc.

Now apply your curves to the server channels in question.

  • Strike that - it doesn't quite work, the server/content layers are not actually in motion.

If you have particular moments in your look where you need to pull a certain set of lights down - the technique works fine, it's just a lot of work to track it.

  • I think curves for pixel mapping is on the list somewhere but it's probably not a very high priority.

Remember that pixel mapping works on an address basis. Even when you use channels as a reference it's purely a shortcut. Pixel mapping doesn't reference patch information such as curves and fixture types etc.
