Gio touch screens auto-dim

It seems like when my gio's screens dim it takes a second for the whole desk to wake up. If I start typing channels it only picks a few keys strokes to actually accept and I end up with channel 1 instead of 122 at full. Is there a way to torun off the feature that makes the screens dim and miss keystrokes? Thanks!!

  • the dimming can't be turned off, but the console should not miss keystrokes if you have done the firmware update that came with 2.0 (?). from the release notes: "Fader Board, 1.1.0.9.0.3, Recommended. Resolves defect that caused button hits to be missed while backlight brightness is changing. Improved performance of motor fader movement"

in the shell > Maintenance, scroll all the way down, there's a list with all the firmware components available.

  • We run a Gio and have the latest updates installed (2015), we have always had this problem, playback remains okay but in the command line if the screens are dim it often misses out the second keystroke or includes it but it's invisible, I know it's 'invisible' because when you press clear you have to press it a second time to clear the item that isn't there.
