Gio touch screens auto-dim

We run a Gio and have the latest updates installed (2015), we have always had this problem, playback remains okay but in the command line if the screens are dim it often misses out the second keystroke or includes it but it's invisible, I know it's 'invisible' because when you press clear you have to press it a second time to clear the item that isn't there.
