sub master numbering - how do I change the number??

Hi Folks,

I'm a novice on the ion and whilst created some groups to subs masters on the fader wing, somehow I managed to save sub 25 to 2 of the faders!  How do I undo this - I need a fader no.26, at the moment I have the following 24, 25, 25, 27...... both 25's have the same info.  I did try the follling to rectify it:

[record] 26 [sub] [enter]  with different lx selected.  didn't work, seems the two 25's are somehow linked together???

  • you have to keep in mind, that there is a difference between Subs (which are record target, think of it as a small box where you can store stuff) and a Fader, which is the physical handle you can move up and down. right now you have assigned the storage space 25 to two physical faders.

there are several ways to change this. one way would be the fader config in setup (Displays > Setup), you'll find a Fader Config button on the right hand side of the CIA. when you click it, you can navigate to the respective fader click the number 25 of the fader that's wrong and type 26 Enter. important: after that you have to click OK to save this. before you've left the Fader Config tool, your desk will not do anything at all!

the other way would be: in Live or Blind: Sub 26 Enter and then press both buttons below the fader at the same time. this is to assign the Sub that's listed in the command line to the fader.

  • Recording a sub and assigning it to a fader are separate and distinct actions.

Since Sub 25 is already assigned to the fader you want to use, you'll need to unassign it. Assuming you are using a fader wing, this is done by simultaneously pressing [Shift] and the 2 buttons below the fader ([Load]).

To assign a sub to a fader the action is [Sub]26[Enter]. Then press the [Load] button for the fader. [Load]  would be both buttons below the fader simultaneously.
