Installing an ENTTEC DMX Ethernet ODE on an Ion to give third universe output.

this is probably a basic question of networking. sometimes you need to find the correct sequence of plugging stuff in. (i.e. start the console, when the device is already plugged in...). the other thing is, your device needs an IP address in the same subnet as the console (but not the same as any other device in the whole network). last but not least, you need to activate ArtNet as output protocol in your Ion and make sure that all patched channels have Artnet listed in their interface tile.

I just had a client move from DMX only to a network system with a similar issue. His patch didn't have any ethernet protocols active. There are check boxes for each channel. I recall there is also a general setting in the shell to enable sACN, ArtNet and several other protocols.

On the shell you can activate both the output protocol and setting them to default interface for patch. In patch, as long as there is interface = default, it will auto-adapt, if you manually choose an interface before, you need to set it manually again.
