Designer RVI Lock Frame

Hello,

I have been working with the new software update and haven't really come up with the best way to set up a designer RVI.

Here are the constraints:

  • The RVI needs to be the same user as the console to follow live/blind/next/last
  • I want to LOCK three frames Magic Sheet/Playback/Tombstones

Here is the problem:

  • Eos doesn't let you LOCK every single frame on the screen, in order to allow you to pull up groups or patch as needed, however, on the RVI I want to lock every single frame so the screens don't flip around on the designer.

Here is what I have doing:

  • I have been creating a 4th frame sized to a tiny sliver off the right, and leaving this one unlocked to flip around with the programmer. Obviously this is less than ideal, but it's the only way I've found to keep the RVI on the same user, and not have the three frames I want locked in place.

Does anyone else use a different set up for a designer RVI?

  • Hi Nick, I hope I'm saying this right as I'm not in front of a console to double check, but I leave whatever frame has the Live Channel Display unlocked. That way any new tab opens in that frame, but any time the console switches back to live, Live Channel always comes back to the front. Yes it means the designer may see group list, or patch or whatever, but at least it will always return back to Live Channel. I think you can also cheat this with using a magic sheet that is set to channel mode. Keep in mind (feature or bug) that every workspace has to have a channel display somewhere. If you have a workspace that doesn't have a channel display somewhere and you go blind and back to live, its going to open one for you (which drives me crazy). HTH,
