Ion file system

Hello All,

I updated our Ion today to V2.2.1 and when I went into the file manager to see what sort of mess the show files were in, I noticed that there were just two identical folders, both labeled 'EOS' and the 'Show Archive' folder is nowhere to be seen.

Attached is a picture of the file manager showing the two identical folders and nothing else! Inside the folders are all of the usual files and folders for the desk.

Any ideas where I can find the showfile archive folder and which, if any of the two folders below I can look at getting rid of? Can't delete either of them in file manager.

Thanks.

  • Your "Show Archive Path" may have been changed.

This is In the Shell, Settings, "General" section.

Click the "Restore Default" button for both Show Archive Path and Media Archive Path to put them back to where they should be.

As to the cause - there are three different installers for Eos Software, and you may have run the wrong one.

    • "Eos Family Console"
    • "Eos Family Nomad for PC" (Windows)
    • "Eos Family Nomad for Mac" (OSX)

The Nomad Mac installer simply won't run on a console.

However, if you use the Nomad for PC installer on a console then you can get some odd effects as the installer gets confused.

(If you use the Console installer on a PC then your Nomad installation won't work properly as some of the file needed for Eos Nomad on PC will be missing.)

  • Thanks Richard, it was definitely console software that was used to upgrade as I upgraded 3 desks at the same time with the same file! Thank you for the fix, a quick click to restore the show archive path put it back in plain sight.
