Simple Multipart Patch Problem???

I've run into this simple problem a few times now.

Imagine this scenario:

I want to patch a 2K spacelight with two non-consecutive dimmer numbers, and still treat the fixture as a multi intensity fixture.

Problems:  I tried copying the profile and editing the dmx channels of intensity 2 to be non consecutive.  (that results in a patch of, say, dimmers 1-3.  I only want to use 1 & 3.  Not 2)

I tried just making a basic two part channel, with two dimmers.  But the channel operates both dimmer parts at the same time. (of course.)

If you understand this problem, and have a solution, please respond.  I'd appreciate it.

  • I looked at my show file and found I had created a fixture profile with different parts but as mentioned this did not give me global control over the ints values.

This is for a 4circ Bay light which had 4 differernt types of bulbs we used in various combinations. This gave me control over the fixtures by patching the out of sequence dimmer #'s into  the 4 parts of 1 ch, but I didn't have global control and I needed a cheat sheet to know which INTS was which type of bulb. It would be great to be able to have global INTS control and the ability to label the different INTS for live display. I build quite a few custom profiles so this comes up quite a bit.

Here is what the ch's look like in Live, ML control, and Patch
