Partly freezing ETC GIO

Hey Guys,

in the last weeks my GIO and me don't understand each other very well.

The console sometimes doesn't react. The first time I recognized the problem, was after creating a new showfilefolder. After creating the new folder I tried to save the show and nothing happend. Every option I clicked or touched in the CIA didn't react. The console didn't make the click sound and there was no other reaction.

This happend several times. Sometimes the console reacted after a few minutes normaly.

Today I had some Subs up, some manual dimmer values, a small cuelist. I released the cuelist, moved all subs down and sneaked all manuals. I tried to shutdown the console, but the same problem like above, no reaction. I tried to click on the parameter filter next to the CIA and got no reaction. I moved a sub and it reacted normally. I tiped some numers in and the commandline reacted like normal. But I still can't shutdown the console. It feels like the DMX stuff works, while the rest of the console has a power nap.

Does anybody know this problem, or what to do?

Thank you,

Dominik

  • Hey Folks,
many thanks for your requests. Yes there was a mouse attached, but there was nothing lying on it, I used it to try to reboot my system. There was no Keyboard attached. So the problem shut be a bug.
What I did, since my post:

    1) I called my local Dealer, and told him the problem. They are on the problem, but don't have any idea, yet. They will call ETC for support. For the next time I know that I should call ETC Support by my self.

    2) I send them the log file. Lets see what they will find out.

    3) I Updated my Consolesoftware from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1. Didn't know about the new Software.

I started a few tests, which should show the problem like before, but the problem didn't show aggain, YET.

So, I hope this should have been the solvation, but lets see, what ETC itselfe finds out.

Except, from this, many thanks to all, who tried to help,

    Dominik
