Monitor Snapshots Recalling CIA Open

Hi ETC Team,

I've recently upgraded to EOS 2.2.1 on an ION 1000. I wanted to record a monitor snapshot of a Direct Select window. After making the snapshot, I would recall that snapshot number to be shown the CIA window. I have older show files from older versions that have snapshots running on 2.2.1 and the CIA remains closed. It is only when I make new snapshots that this happens.

This is something that was an issue in earlier versions (1.9, 2.0), but I was able to get around this by closing the CIA window prior to executing with the [Enter] key.

Example:

Step 1.  Monitors are set to my liking.

Step 2. [Record] [Snapshot #] (at this point CIA is open giving you the option of what type snapshot you desire. By default [Monitors] is selected)  With the mouse, I left click on the CIA "down arrow" closing the CIA and finish the command line with the [Enter] key. When I recall the snapshot, the CIA remains closed. This is no longer the case with V.2.2.1.

Is this something that is old news and will be addressed in a later version?

I would like to point out that this little error creates more of a work load when in the heat of data entry b/c now I have to always close the CIA when recalling a snapshot with the mouse and then move onto the programming. I do enjoy the new fresh look and features of this version, but I hope to see this problem resolved sooner than later.

Thank you for your time and wishing you all the very best.

Sincerely,

  • I am also looking to have this question answered.

I've done as John described above to record a snap shot and I was pleased to find the snapshot recalling with the CIA closed. Of course a short time later the snapshot started recalling the CIA open. I had not re-recorded the snapshot or any other snapshot in that time. I then manually close the CIA and go about my business till I again jump between a couple snapshots eventually returning to this same snapshot and now it recalls it with the CIA closed? I then thought "Oh maybe the snapshot doesn't remember the CIA's position, it just leaves it where it was when you recalled the snapshot". That theory also proved entirely wrong.

Does anyone know what determines this behavior?

    All help is greatly appreciated.
