Help with black outs please

How do l hold a black out between a cue fading out and the next one fading in. Ie So actors can move off stage in a black out before the next cue comes up. We have an Element 60

  • When I have a spot where people have to do something in the dark, I would typically make this two separately called cues because (unless your actors are remarkably consistent) it's hard to know exactly how much time to give them. The first cue is a blackout and the next cue is the following scene.

If you want the second cue to happen automatically you can use a follow [shift+delay] time. Just keep in mind that the follow timer starts when you press go on the first cue, so if the cue's fadetime is 5s and you want a 3s blackout in between, then the follow time should be 8s.
