PSD columns are disappearing after 2.3.1 update.

I am experiencing a problem on my Ion consoles with the 2.3.1 update.   The Playback Status Display opens up blank sometimes (none of the columns are visible, although the highlight bar corresponding to the active cue is visible). I am experiencing this on all three of my Ion consoles (2 older XP based units and a newer Win 7 unit). This may be related to another problem I am having with PSDs opened in very small frames. Sometimes when I go to adjust column widths in these small PSDs the column closes (disappears). If I keep clicking on the remaining columns they close also. It happens somewhat randomly, but I can repeat the problem by opening several small PSDs and adjusting the column widths. Sometimes they behave normal, other times they don’t. I use these very small PSDs to view a few cues forward and backward in my show.

Here is the display after recalling a snapshot.  The PSD on the right was added as a backup for when this happens.

  • Hello Hans,
In answer to your first question, no, it does not refresh, still blank when I switch to workspace 2 and back again.
When I recorded this as a snapshot and recalled it, it did refresh correctly. A few other times I have recalled a snapshot that includes a PSD that had previously been displayed correctly and it opened blank.
It has taken me some time to establish any predictable pattern. It seems to happen much more often when I have cues running, as I had difficulty repeating the behavior with no active cues. It has only happened when I was personally operating the console and I could quickly switch to another PSD, however I have volunteers that sometimes operate the console and may not react as well.

  • Thanks. I see something here, though it is pretty intermittent. (I looked at the logs from a previous email sent on the issue, and we can recreate from the data in the logs.)
  • Hi Pat,

Just wanted to let you know that we found the issue and have incorporated a fix in version 2.3.2 (due out a bit later this year, but pretty soon).

As a workaround, you can Ctrl+Double Click on the PSD to resize the column headers and bring it all back.

    Thanks for reporting this one.
