I-Master bump buttons

Hey Gregg. And would you expect such a control to ignore the NP content entirely?  And if the button is set with timing?  Do you expect there to be some manner to bring the NPs in?

I think Ueli has the gist of my thought, just to be able to punch the intensity without regard to NPs. Right now I need to use two faders to accomplish this, one as an I-master and the second as a proportional one. I would like to able to mark the NPs with one button and flash the lights with the other using only a single fader.

So just a momentary intensity flash (not a latch) - where the timing of the sub remains with the bump button, which can be used to mark the lights. And the slider controls the intensity only?

Or a Mark button that marks that lights, and the bump then is an intensity only controller - using timing (if any) and latched? Or if no time, acts as a momentary flash?

Option B works best within our logic.

I can live with B. Never thought about using time for the mark aspect of an i-master anyway.
So the timing and man/hold would apply to the flash button only
But: I don't want to replace current behaviour, I want new button types. And either a check box "don't mark > 0%" or a fader type that doesn't automatically mark. (Or does master only do that? Haven't played with this combination yet, sorry)

Master Only MIGHT be able to get you mostly there. We are still working out some detail on that behavior. :-)

Master Only is meant to address the "don't mark Off 0%" with the fader.

A dedicated Mark button was on the list at one point - which I think is helpful either way.


Flash button - I think it's an interesting idea. Is there any value in having a Flash button that ignores Sub timing (was always 0/Man/0) and ignored NIP altogether (ie. no marking) ?

i can very much see the value of a flash button, that accepts the current mark/no-mark state, i.e. doesn't force a mark. i'm leaning toward the flash button using timing, but that is secondary to me.

I have no passion either way as to timing. Maybe it is better to leave it in Sub timing.
