Ion and Techno's

For a recent theatrical production I am using an Ion and I have two HES Technobeams w/Iris. There are a few points in the show where I project one of the Techno's on the back Cyc with a gobo out of focus, iris'd in a bit. The instrument intensity also fades up. During this cue the intensity comes up fine, and the position and iris stay put, but the focus of the gobo seems to fade from zero to the recorded focus of the gobo. This is unfortunately allowing the audience to see the gobo in focus. I am using Automark and Tracking, but I can't seem to figure out why this happens each time I fade up the Techno's. Any suggestions?
  • Hi there

Do you have edge values recorded into your gobo beam pallet?  If this is the case, it is most likely this data has been recorded into your cue as well.  My suggestion would be bring the cue up onstage.  Adjust the edge settings to get the desired look, then update the cue.

I'd suggest using the [update {make absolute}] to update your cue. If you have edge data recorded into the beam pallet with the gobo, using update - make abs will update the edge data as raw data into the cue.  If you use update - update all, this will update your edge data back into your beam pallet and may cause undesired results through the rest of your show.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers
