Programming wing not working on Mac

EOS programming wing doesn't work with this mac for some reason. It has power and data connection for sure, as the USB hub on the wing works just fine. None of the buttons will register any keystrokes in EOS.

Tried testing the wing on my laptop running the latest beta build of MacOS Sierra - it works fine. Also works on a number of different Windows machines.

I had a similar problem on another mac a few months back but it wasn't critical so I just used another machine. Tech support hadn't heard of the problem before either. Hoping someone else might have ran into this in the wild and might have a solution.

  • When connecting the programming wing to the computer, was EOS open/running?
I have run into times where I need to fully close EOS and the shell, then connect the programming wing for it to register in EOS.
  • In shell setup ... maintenance test peripherals ... see also if it detects the programming wing and associated firmware
    that helps?
  • I just tried it again with macOS Sierra 10.12.6
    I had no issues.
I see you are using Eos 2.5.1.9.0.29, if you are able I would suggest upgrading to 2.5.2.9.0.8 when possible Direct Link to Nomad Mac 2.5.2: www.etcconnect.com/.../DownloadAsset.aspx

If that doesn't work and this is critical give Tech Support a call. They may have a few extra things to try.
  • I have tested with MacOS saw v 10.12.5 and EOS v 2.5.2.9.0.4 and no problem ... in Finder (Mac) Applications, Utilities folder, System info, Hardware, USB, USB Device Tree ... if all You should see ... USB HUB (Avab Congo I / O Interface ... ETC Gio / Eos Keyboard Rev: A ..) ... check that it does not interfere with the Firewal ... if you have a Hub disconnect the programming wing And connect directly to the USB of the Mac ..

  • All parts show up in the USB device list.
  • Not an option on the Mac version of Nomad - Windows machine sees it just fine.
  • Noticed this in diagnostics. Not sure if it's important or not.

Note that I have tried this with the latest stable build of EOS as well on the same machine with same results.

Here's what shows up in USB devices

  • Do you have any other programs running at the same time Eos is?
My interpretation of "Skipping Mac usb interface already opened for exclusive access" could be the result of another program trying to utilize the programming wing before Eos.
Other thing to try is once the EOS app is running, the shell window minimizes, instead of leaving it minimized try closing the shell window and see if that makes a different. I don't know if doing this can cause other unknown issues.
