Or you could change the 'fader' option in the sub list to Intensity master (instead of proportional). Then you could record your attribute information as well but the fader would only fade up the intensities.

You can store intensity via a selective store, as Crispy outlined (thanks Chris!). Additionally, remember that "Record Only" stores only manual values. You can also use filters if you are storing lots of subs and you only want the intensity parameter.
Just a little more data on the "Intensity" setting for a submaster. When a sub is set to "Intensity" rather than "Proportional" (the default), the bump button becomes a "mark" key, and the slider then brings up the intensity only. However, if you have NPs stored to the sub, bringing the fader up will move the NPs as well, in the event you do not "mark" them. Bringing the slider back down will only fade out the intensities provided by that sub.
