+% on Groups in cues on the EOS

Let's say group Y has 3 channels associated with it, and let's say that group Y is sitting in cue XX with all levels of "0" and cue XX is live onstage. If I select group Y and use +%, (which is set to +10%) the levels will not move to 10.  Now, lets say that group Y's levels are 10, 20 and 30. When I use +% on the group, it works as it should. Now let's say that group Y's levels are 0, 10 and 20. If I use +% it will change only the channels that have levels above 0. Is this a bug? or intended? The EOS I'm using is running 1.4.0

  • Teri - it is indeed intended behavior.  There are a number of areas where we treat inactive lights and active lights differently.   Imagine that your group above was an FOH wash.  Some of the lights were in use (active), some were not.  What you probably don't want to do it turn on the lights that are not in use.    Does that make sense?  This is another of those jump ball decisions.

Also, although that button is not actually a % button.... it is a "point" button - you can also make the argument that n% of zero is zero.  If you use the following syntax:  Group Y at / 5 enter - to set group Y at 50% of their current values .... inactive channels in that group are not affected.

    ??  BTW, welcome!!
