Movers On Subs

Depending on what exactly you are trying to achieve but you probably want to set the faders to Intensity master (I-Master) on the fader config page.

If you set it like that then as you start to move the fader up the light will position and then fader up the light and as you fade down it will not move.

If set like that you can press one of the buttons on the fader to mark (so it moves to the position before you start sliding the fader)

Keeping in mind that you HAVE to configure your Fader as an Intensity Master or else the Marking functions will not work properly. I-Master Faders make the Bump button a Mark NP button, no need to set it as Mark NPs in settings.

(You can configure a button of a proportional master fader to Mark you NPs, but it will fade out your NPs and there's no way to fix that.)

Ultimately, there may be better ways to accomplish what you're trying to do. You really can't run intelligent fixtures like you would conventionals.
If you have your movers permanently at Full (Not Parked), you can Inhibit their intensity in one sub, and also use Palettes or Presets to assign their Colour, Focus, & Beam.
(Also, you can assign a Fader Button as a Macro... A Macro to assign NP values.) . . . if that's easier?

I think you are making it sound quite complicated for bAz

All it sounded like he needed to do for the problem in his initial post was set the fader as an I-master and as I said in my post if you set it like that, then one of the buttons becomes the bump button.

Its not unusual to want to use movers such that simply sliding up the fader positions the lamp and then brings up the intensity, particularly if your rig is not massive and you need to use the limited number of lights in a flexible way.

I had a similar problem and have been exploring all of my options.
