ETC Nomad with USB-C

I own ETC nomad and have basic adapters for USB 1 (regular; still confused about terminology) to USB-C but the MacBook Pro isn't recognizing that anything is plugged in. I feel like the problem is that these adapters were cheap ones from Amazon, but I don't really know. The MacBook is a 2016 model, Pro, and is currently running High Sierra.

  • I also have a USB-C Macbook and can't get the nomad dongle to work. The system does recognize the dongle (Sentinel HL appears), and also the usb stick connected to the same usb hub is showing, but the software does still only show offline buttons.

On different computers, it does work. I noticed on my macBook, the dongle doesn't show his light where it does on other computers.
