Several Questions

Hi all,

A few questions:

1) Is there a quick way to view, using Reference Marks, where a marked light is moving?  For example, at any point you can hold down the [TIME] button and view the discrete times recorded in the cue.  I'd like to be able to select a moving light that is in a marked state (says 'MK' in the intensity field) and have the console tell me what cue that channel is actually moving is.  (we've been using [Mark] - [Earliest])

 2) What does a '+' in the Mark column mean?  We're using Referenced Marks.

3) We're having a strange situation with [Sneak].  The best way to explain it is to give you an example: (all numbers changed to protect the innocent)

In live, we're sitting in cue 5.  channel 34 is tracked at 50%.  we then go to Blind of cue 5 and change channel 34 to 75%.  Then, back in Live we [Sneak] channel 34.

On Obsession, the last [Sneak] command would move channel 34 to 75% over the sneak time.  On ION the level of channel 34 turns red but stays at 50%.  Why is that?  On ION, how would you get that channel to respond to it's new level?  Or, is it possible to selectively make an individual channel go to a cue? For instance:

Chan 34 [Go To Cue] 5 Enter

Would that move channel 34 to the recently changed level? (without affecting the rest of the channels that have been modified)

I know this is a kind of backwards way of approaching things, the question comes from my designer.  This is also a simplified example.

Thanks for your help!

  • On Obsession if you change the cue in blind, then go to live and press [ch] [sneak] it will not update to the blind level, it will update to the level it was at when in live.  To change to blind level you need to [ch] [sneak] [cue].  So the Ion is acting correctly.  Instead of [sneak] [cue] the command is now only assert, which may or may not be easier.

Good luck, and happy opening.  Hope the set is fixed and water didn't screw too much up.
