I sent this (rather long winded) account of a problem that I encountered last week to Support on Sunday but I haven't received a response. So I was hoping that someone on here may have encountered something similar.
Sorry it's so long winded
This weekend we've been having problems with our EOS, below is the scenario we encountered.
-I started with my standard show file and cleared the patch using Displays->Clear->Patch.
-After clearing the patch I went to the park screen, realizing that I still had chan 27-30 parked at 25%, and attempted to un-park the channels
-The patch screen showed chan 27-30 in the parked channels section, but had no value for intensity. Also the live screen still showed a 'P' for these channels. This was my first problem.
-I continued to patch the show that we were hanging without any problems
-The next day I came in and hung the scrollers. I bumped through them by address on the RFR (using park mode on the RFR) and each scroller came to full as I got to it's address but would not go back to 00%, which I thought was odd as I was using the next key on the RFR, which would normally put the channel at 00% when I move on the the next channel. This is my second problem
-I disregarded that since I had more work to do
-Later after I patched the scrollers (they were patched as intensity channels as the tour was bringing as Expression disk for us to import) and they were still stuck at Full
-I first assumed that I had a scroller problem, but I hooked up a DMX tester directly to the node output and sure enough Address 3/1-8 were all stuck at full.
-I attempted to un-park the channels, (although they did not appear on the park screen anywhere)
-I attempted to un-patch the channels and re-patch them.
-I then went back to my DMX tester and brought up address address 3/9 and 3/10 from my RFR, after which these addresses we also stuck at Full
-Please note that I have been able to bump though other addresses from my RFR without any problems
-I next decided to shut everything down and reboot everything one item at a time.
-Once the RPU came back on-line (the first item I rebooted) Address 3/1-8 came back down to 00%, and chan 27-30 had disappeared from park, but address 3/9+10 were still at Full.
-Thinking everything was fine I went ahead and imported the ASCII file that EOL had created
-I then imported all the parts of the EOS fine with the exception of Cues, Subs and Groups
-I thought everything was fixed, until half way though cuing when the board op told me that the scrollers were once again stuck at Full
-I then used NCE to change my node output to universe 4 and patched my scrollers on the EOS at 4/1-8, I haven't had any problems since, however 3/1-8 is still stuck at full.
All consoles and Clients are running 1.4.2
My system is set up as follows:
EOS RPU (running as Master)
EOS Console (running as Backup)
2 x EOS Client Computer
2 x DMX nodes configured as:
-Node 1:
--Port 1 - DMX IN - Universe 1
--Port 2 - DMX IN - Universe 2
--Port 3 - DMX OUT - Universe 1
--Port 4 - DMX OUT - Universe 2
-Node 2:
--Port 1 - DMX IN - Universe 1
--Port 2 - DMX IN - Universe 2
--Port 3 - DMX OUT - Universe 3
--Port 4 - DMX OUT - Universe 3 (this is the one I reconfigured as Universe 4)
