software version 2.7.2 is released and available for download

2.7.2 is now released. This fixes a major issue from 2.7.0 related to Undo and Tab 100 (the manual). 60 or so SCRs were addressed. This also changes the way summary views are handled. Please see the detail on the 2.7.2 release note. It is highly recommended anyone currently using 2.7 or 2.7.1 upgrade to this release at their earliest opportunity.

I went back to ETCConnect and did a search and found it however it hit me; is this now no longer good for XP consoles?

They said "sometime in 2019".
and I'm sure they'll give ample notice of compatibility.

As is currently planned, even the next version (v2.8.0) will maintain XP compatibility.

I think it's very safe to say that we will definitely be providing all kinds of notice when the first "non-XP" release happens.

We ran into a couple of snafus posting 2.7.2 yesterday. It should be all sorted now. We will do three things - when we release the last version of Eos software that will be XP compatible, we will tell you that. Before we release the first version of software that is not XP compatible, we will advise everyone it is coming. When we actually release the first version of software that is not XP compatible, we will put that in large text in the announcement, the release note and send an email blast advising of same.
