XE bug or user error: two touch screens won't work using both usb's at rear

So I attended the training class a couple of weeks ago and finally received my new XE 20. I decided to go through the training books item x item to help me understand things better and I am not sure if I have encountered bugs (known or not) or if they are just user error. I am only about 1/2 way thru so more possibly to come. I also contemplated putting them all on one post however things can get pretty polluted that way so I will be posting them individually.

If you have any suggestions, experience with them or know they are bugs please advise.

I will copy and paste this intro into each one for new readers.

I have two Dell P2418HT monitors. When each one is connected to usb ports on the rear of the XE only the left monitor touch works. When I use the XE face panel usb (on the top of the console) as the second input they both work.

  • We use the same touchscreens in training with both touchscreens plugged in to the back of the console. Have you gone in to the shell> Setup> Monitor Arrangement> Configure Touchscreens? That should sort it out after you tap each touchscreen in order.

Alternatively, have you verified that all of the USB ports work (plug in mouse or keyboard)?

  • Hook up day I tried the align but it put the first X so far up into the left corner I could not touch it, so I had to abort that.

  • I then tried Configure and when I was done it combined both screens up into one big screen. So again I aborted. What was happening was when I touched the left screen it actually worked the left screen. This happened using either the left or right rear second usb. So when I used the top usb the right monitor worked perfectly without any configuring, other than the original identifying and placing A and B. So today I tried the two rear usb's again and tried the Configure again. It didn't combine them both into one screen but instead made them both work. Very strange how yesterday the right monitor would only work when using the top usb port, even without any configuring. But they both work now. Yeah!!!!
