Display Errors on Lustrs and VL 3500 Washes on 2.7

Hi all,

Has anyone else been getting small pluses where no small pluses should be?  I first noticed it on Lustrs in RGB Strfan +7 mode. A + was showing beside the Colour Palette label, despite everything being in there.  I checked them about a million time both in blind Colour Palette and Live to make sure I had all the parameters in there and I did.  But still I was getting OW+.  Then I saw that it was happening on some of my Lustrs, but not all.  They're all patched identically and ByTyped in the CP.  I was then that I noticed the really fun bit. Sometimes the pluses were showing in Live but not in Blind or viceversa. I've attached a couple of pictures showing this.  You can see that it's the exact same show, the exact same time and that everything is completely blue, but if you look at c1101 - 1106 there's no + in Live but a + in Blind.  It's completely inconsistent as to whether it shows or not.

I've started getting it on the Beam attribute for VL3500 Washes too.  Once again, I spent eras trying to find an attribute that had somehow gotten away from me or been filtered out, but no joy.  I finally accepted it wasn't me being stupid when I recorded a Preset with no attribute filter macro, just 41 Record Preset 176, and it had a plus without me touching anything or recording it or anything.  I've attached a third photo showing that.

This is all on a brand new Ti, straight out of the box, running 2.7.2.

Is anyone else getting any of this?

Thanks,

Christina.

  • Hi Christina,

If I am following your comments correctly, I think I might have an explanation.  Does this happen when you have the fixture in question selected, but not always?  Also, when it happens, are the parameters being affected also the parameters assigned to the encoders?

There is a known bug that causes the encoders to falsely register a slight movement.

Build 2.7.4 is releasing on Tuesday, 9 October, that resolves this issue.

    Thanks, ~Seth

  • Hi Seth,

No this isn’t when things are selected. You can see there that I was jumping between Live and Blind on the Lustrs which would deselect anything if I had accidentally taken it. With the record on the VLs they are, of course, selected, but it is consistent there. It’s on every single preset.

What you mentioned may be responsible for another issue I’ve had. I’m getting a D in the tracksheet where it doesn’t seem there should be because everything is purple. I’ve just done a Query Dark Moves @ Enter to get rid of it, which works, although nothing actually seems to change on screen.

    Thanks,

    Christina
