I can't get it straight in my mind where Magic Sheets live. I thought they were show file specific. So if i want to open one from another show I have to Merge it.
I opened an old show (Grease) with some similar things going on to the new show (Beauty) but wanted a different Magic Sheet because of the differences. I saved Grease as Beauty.
I then goofed and edited the existing MS realizing oops, it has the wrong name (Grease MS) and I just messed it up for that original show when do it again. Soooo I created a new Magic Sheet then copied and pasted what I did on the old MS to the new one and I saved Beauty again. To fix my mess up I opened Grease from another stored location (I save to 3 different locations; console and two external drives). When I opened Grease from a different source the MS was the same one as the one I edited in Beauty.
So I opened an old saved one (I had several still there) that had the original Grease MS and I copied that one. I then exited Grease and reopened Beauty. I opened the original Grease MS that I had changed and deleted everything in it and pasted the one I just copied. When I exited the contents of that one were the same as the Beauty MS. So now I had lost the Beauty MS.
I then opened a Beauty saved file from a different time and found it but the same thing happened when I copied it to the new Beauty show file Beauty MS - the original Grease MS changed to Beauty also.
I am perplexed and thinking this is so not normal and most likely so confusing and so not suggested that I really won't get a good answer because it is hard to answer something so absurd, but I am trying at least. If I loose the original Grease MS then I will just redo another one when the time comes I repeat the show. (I have done it twice so far and going to do it again in Nov).
I am also very familiar with PEBCAC - Problem exists between chair and computer (in this case console) and never exclude myself from it. :-)
