Encoders on BCF2000 using Luminosus

Hi,

have you checked that there are no conflicting parameter numbers set at the BCF2000? The parameter number is set in edit mode by using the third encoder (labelled with PAR).

Hi. Thanks a million. I now have it working, although not entirely sure exactly how the parameters and channels work. I am still having trouble getting the fader bank to map properly, although I had it working earlier in the process so I presume it is something similar to do with conflicting parameters or channels. I will continue to experiment. Many thanks for your help.

I now have a much more basic question. Having managed to make it work as described above, I find that it is not saving the project. I have tired to save it but when I turn the Behringer unit off and back on again, it has lost all its settings. The project seems to have all its blocks still assigned but the Behringer unit has to be set up again using the edit commands. Given the power of what it offers once it is set up, I would live with this inconvenience but I must be missing something that allows me to turn it off and have all the encoders still assigned when I turn it on again. Sorry for the seemingly basic question but I am totally puzzled.

I think I have stumbled across the solution to the above issue. Apparently I needed to hit STORE so that the Behringer console would remember the setting done in EDIT. Trial and error (mostly error) is the only forward with this combination of kit! If only I could afford a full Ion XE console!

Glad to hear that it works now. Do you have the full manual for the BCF2000?

I have the manual that came with the product but I find it quite difficult to follow as I am using the device differently from what is intended. Your advice and the youtube video online are more helpful. At this stage I am happy that I have the encoders working properly but although I got the fader bank to work originally, I find they are not working for me now. The midi mapping routine doesn't appear to work any more. I would also like the push function on the encoders to map to home for any given attribute and also to explore some of the other functions. However, I would settle for what I have managed so far as the encoders have transformed the nomad system, giving me some of the functions missing from the real desk. I am really looking forward to using it on my next show in the real world. IT will speed up programming immensely.
