Fader Wing Freeze up on ION Console.

I am currently doing a convention using our ion console and 2x20 fader wing. i have the first 30 faders mapped as submasters which work fine.  I have the last 10 faders mapped as playback faders.  every so often the playback faders freeze up. the forward and back buttons stop working and i can not even load the cuelist back into the fader, it seems the entire fader is frozen.  when one of the playback faders freezes all of them freeze.  the only way i have found to work around this is to load them into the main playback fader on the ion itself and then run the playlist from there. after about 10 minutes it will let me reload them into the fader wing and will work for a while but will then freeze up again.  

I have updated to 1.4.3 in hope that it would have been a bug fix that was corrected, but the issue still exists.

Any suggestions?

    Hi Brandon,

    When you say that "the entire fader is frozen," is it just the 10 playback faders, or does the entire wing stop responding including the 30 submasters?

    Also, are you using the wing attached to the side of the console, or is it stand alone connected by cables? If you're attaching it to the side of the ION console, please use the provided screws to ensure a reliable connection.

    Also, are you using the wing attached to the side of the console, or is it stand alone connected by cables? If you're attaching it to the side of the ION console, please use the provided screws to ensure a reliable connection.

    only the 10 playback faders are frozen, the problem is when 1 freezes all of them freeze, the other 30 submasters as well as all the other submasters on the other pages work fine but all playback faders freeze.

    the fader wing is NOT attached to the console it is attached stand alone via USB and it's own power supply.

    ok quick followup

    i just created a completely new show on the same ion. i setup the conventional dimmers then the catalyst channels and began programming all of the submasters and playback sliders and cues.

    same exact problem every few minutes the playback faders freeze and neither button or the faders have any effect until i shutdown and reload the system, and again when one freezes all the playback faders freeze as well.  but as before none of the submaster faders are affected.

     

    This problem does not occur if i do not patch any of the other fixtures.  this problem seems to affect any playback faders, i tried to setup coemar parlite LEDs and ColorKinetics color blazes with playback cues and they end up doing the same thing whenever the conventional dimmer circuits are patched, but everything works fine if i unpatch all of the dimmer channels.

    Brandon, we've been trying to duplicate this.  Can you send us your show file... eos@etcconnect.com.    Also, can you save your log files and send them along with the show file (go to the shell, maintenance, save logs).

    It you can make a note about the issue, so we know who to route it to.
