EOS and ELO touchsceen

We just installed an ELO touchsceen on the EOS.

When I try to open a 5 x 10 Direct Select Module onto the touchscreen, by selecting "Upper Left Console Display" and "Open in Tab" it opens it fine. When I try to select "Lower Left Console Display"/"Open in Tab" it opens it in the upper section of the touchscreen.

What it won't do is open both a "Upper Left Console Display" / "Open in Tab" and a "Lower Left Console Display" / "Open in Tab" . Also, when I hit 20/50 on the 5 x 10 Direct Selects on the touchscreen, it will expand to 50 and that's it. (My other 5x10 Direct Select Modules I opened to the left of the CIA expands to 100). So in short, the most I can get out of a 5X10 Direct select that is opened in a Tab on the touchscreen, is 50, or two 20's.

So everything else I open on the touchscreen will go full screen, for example...Park Channels, Live Channels, Patch...etc. It's just the 5x10 Direct Selects I can't get to function like the 5x10 Direct Selects I opened to the left of the CIA.

Is there something I'm not doing right? or something I haven't set up on the touchscreen right?

Thanks,

Terri Batcheller

  • Hi there

"Upper Left" and "Lower Left" cannont be used with "Open in Tab".  They are seperate commands.

"Upper left" and "lower Left" refer to the upper and lower half of the left console display.  "Open in Tab" will open a 5x10 direct select in a half screen tab that you can push around your displays to where you want it

From what I can gather, you can only have 1 tab of direct selects, which is why you can only get a total of 50 direct selects (5x10)

Possible options (depending on the number of external monitors you have) you can have a tab of 50 DS on your external touch screen, 100 on your left console display, and another 50 above the CIA.  Giving you 200 in total.  To do this, you need to have another external display for channel / playback /other displays (I'm pretty sure the console doesn't let you open direct selects in every space.. there needs to be a space for some info to be displayed)

If you want access to multiple types of direct selects, perhaps try having 4 groups of 20 on your left display.  if you want to expand your display to show more colour pallets, or more groups, etc, use the associated "expand" button on the touchscreen

    Hope that helps.

ps... is damien cooper working with you guys at the moment.  If he's still there, would you mind saying g'day to him from me?  Cheers

Perhaps, I didn’t explain the situation properly.

First I have 3 external screens. 1 being an ELO touchscreen,  2 that are not touchscreens.

Second, I do have (4) groups of 20’s in my LCD1 to the left of my CIA. And (2) groups of 20’s above my CIA (which is LCD2).

The problem; and now I’m realizing, it has become a wish: …. is that I want (4) groups of 20’s on my ELO touchscreen in addition to the 20’s I already have.  You would think that you would want your external touchscreens to emulate the onboard LCD1 touchscreen ….meaning, that if you selected a 5x10 DS from the CIA it should populate them just like the LCD1, since the touchscreen is full screen and not half like the LCD2 above the CIA. As it stands right now, the ELO touchscreen will not emulate the LCD1. It emulates the LCD2 as far as 5x10 DS are concerned.

    Hi Terri,

Currently you can only get that 100 button set up (which allows the 4 groups of 20 buttons) on the left side on board display on the Eos console.  It is on my list to make the creation and placement of the direct select displays as well as other virtual control modules more flexible, but this task is behind a number of other high priority items.  I hope to get to this sometime this year.
