Feature request. Blind effect build/preview without affecting stage

Have many instances where im asked build effect no time to test live then apply it. I heard rumors this will be in 3.0. Is this true?

This was indeed implemented in 3.0, called Staging Mode.

When I am in staging and go to modify an effect, the Augmented3D window stops updating and it switched to blind. How can I test different effect settings in Nomad without switching back and forth into live? It's pretty disruptive and if I'm trying to tweak the timing of a complex absolute effect, it's hard to see my change.
