Have many instances where im asked build effect no time to test live then apply it. I heard rumors this will be in 3.0. Is this true?

This was indeed implemented in 3.0, called Staging Mode.
Our previous answer was wrong: Staging Mode currently does not allow effects to run.
Currently the best way to visualize effects in Augment3d (when not in Live) is to have a cue in blind where the effects are active.
When I am in staging and go to modify an effect, the Augmented3D window stops updating and it switched to blind. How can I test different effect settings in Nomad without switching back and forth into live? It's pretty disruptive and if I'm trying to tweak the timing of a complex absolute effect, it's hard to see my change.
Our answer was incomplete or wrong. I edited the reply above for clarity.
Sorry for the confusion.
Regarding seeing live effects in A3d when in the Effects List, there is an existing ticket:
[EOS-50900]
Augment3d should show running effects and their changes while in Effect Blind
Thank you for clarifying! I will try the effect in a cue. I'm thinking a separate cue list so I don't mess with my main show list.
So I'm still not sure of the sequence. I created a cue, updated and effect with it on it, switched to change a parameter in the absolute effect and A3D stopped. I'm trying to follow along with this David Kane video and he's making changes to the effect and then his preview is updating in realtime without him having to click anything else but to change the value. Here's the example I'm trying to follow:

Your videos are great, but not being able to see the effect as soon as the value is changed disconnects me from the effect change
Ah, thank you for sharing that link. I get how this video is confusing. The reason is that what you're seeing is the result of two rather than one Eos devices. The Augment3d screen you're seeing in the video is from a connected client which was then overlaid over the Eos split screen with a video mixer.
To achieve that you'd need two consoles, or a console plus a Nomad with dongle, or two Nomads with dongle.
Ok, thanks for clarifying. Maybe this is already in a feature request, but ideally I could do all this with just one nomad so I can learn the effects before I get to the board and I'm able to follow along the tutorials without needing to go back and forth. Having a live output viewer with A3D would be perfect. I know live and blind are firewalled for good reason, but it does seem like this would speed up programming and learning if the developers could make it work!
