Networking RFR in 1.4.4

Howdy Todd,

you need to configure the Handheld to let it know to which console it is connecting; it is not looking for a specific Base Station, rather a specific console (or RPU).

Turn the Handheld off; Hold down the Period key (.)  and turn on the Handheld.

you will get a Menu to choose which Console (or RPU) you want to connect to.

I'll give your suggestion a try- I knew there had to be a way.

The release note for the RFR v.2.0 update references a "RFR Setup Guide rev. C", but the one that is up on the web site is still rev. B.

Thanks for the rev. C guide.  It explained it all-

I had to load the GCE onto my laptop and use that to configure the RFR base station and give it a static IP address.  There is no DHCP server on our lighting network (by design) so the base station was defaulting to an IP address that would not communicate with the rest of the devices.

Of course, when I enabled the DCHP server on the GCE, it initially gave the RFR the same IP address as one of our DMX nodes.  So still no communication until I sorted that out.

After I set the static IP on the RFR base station and rebooted it, I followed Corey's instructions to connect the remote to our RPU and had it up and running in a minute.

Is there an "ETC approved" IP address range for RFR's?  I just picked something that I knew would work and not conflict with the other devices.  I remember seeing a document that listed the "ETC approved" IP ranges for the various networked devices, but I don't remember where.
