Just to bring this back up to the top any update on password protection for show files

You would think this would be a thing since high end is an etc company and the hog 4 systems have this feature

What I mean is password lock the face panel so no edits can be made

For what do you need it?
You can`t override an existing Showfile
So the files are protect

There is no way to overwrite an existing file.

For lock-unlock Facepanel-Keyboard use SHIFT ESCAPE.
First press will lock nearby all knobs (SHIFT and ESCAPE will and must work...), second press will unlock.
