iRFR Classic connection to EOS on iMac - not working

Hello all, wondering if anyone else has a problem with connecting iRFR-Classic (free-2.0.1.9.0.14) to EOS (2.9) running on a Mac (running High Sierra)?

The app currently can see the EOS as it dings and shows all the connection bars, but when I try to "Connect" it goes to the gray "Connecting" for a loooooong time and then ends up timing out.

I have checked all the places to tick for allowing remotes (maybe in v3 this could be streamlined to one place?)

And I have tried with and without the Device Name as Password.

The odd thing is that I have EOS running on a PC in the same room/network and it can connect fine.

The Mac firewall is set to off so all incoming connections are supposedly allowed. (Also, I can use QLab remote to connect to QLab on the same machine for whatever that's worth - I'm guessing they use different protocols).

The one weird thing I do notice is that in the Mac EOS shell there isn't an "RFR" button, but also in the Network settings it doesn't go past the "Interface Protocols: OSC" group. I also noticed that the on the Mac the "obtain IP automatically" is unchecked, and whereas the PC is checked. Also, just realized as I compare things that the Mac is also not showing any "Gateway" which I'm sure is the main source of the issue. This seems like an issue for the EOS software not seeing the computer settings somewhere.

What else could be causing the problem; ideas? What other info could be helpful?

Thanks!

  • Well, I don't have any admin over this network. But it would seem that the Mac is on the same net as the iPhone.

And, why would it work easily to the PC running eos?

Both are on the same wifi network, and have the same router and subnet.

Phone IP is 10.12.17.155 and Mac is 10.12.19.220. (Pic in initial post).

Seems EOS isn't pulling the "router" info for some reason.
